A community-development first for local Government, in the City of Subiaco

The City of Subiaco has put together a draft policy which could mean a 25-per-cent discount from development application fees, in circumstances where there is evidence that residents have consulted with neighbours.

Subiaco Mayor David McMullen told Oly Peterson on Perth Live proactive consultation before a development application could save time, resources and a bit of heart ache.

“This is a first for local government in the Perth metro region… and as far as we know we’d be the first council in WA trying it as well,” said Mr McMullen

“The idea is about getting neighbours to speak to each other, to engage, to converse, and hopefully result in some good development outcomes for our community.”
