A $30 million bill for taxpayers prompts calls for a leadership change

The State Opposition has renewed calls for the corrective services portfolio to be taken off Bill Johnston.
Taxpayers will be faced to foot a more-than 30-million-dollar bill after a riot caused significant damage at Banksia Hill Detention Centre last week.
Opposition Leader Shane Love says the event was “entirely predictable”, and a result of failing to make change.
“It’s the fourth time that there has been a riot there this year”.
“You would think that the government would have woken up,” Mr Love said.
