A sea container has been returned to a local junior footy club after a bizarre scam resulted in the 20-foot metal object being stolen in broad daylight and in front of witnesses.

The theft all over social media last week, and following a few days of public confusion, the “owner” of the container returned it to the club.

Apparently, the container had been fraudulently sold online by a seller who seems to have absolutely no relation to the club.

“I feel really bad for the guy; it’s not fair that he’s been stitched up like this,” Kelmscott JFC President James Linton said.
