Large SUVs and utes are under fire again for contributing to the county’s transport emissions which a new report shows are encouraged by Australia’s tax policies.

The Australian Institute research director Rod Campbell told 6PR Afternoons there are too many unnecessary large cars on the road.

“Far too many people are buying them,” said Mr Campbell.

“We’re spending more money on fuel as a country than we need to.”
