A 50-year-old man has been rescued off Mandurah after setting off an Epirb.
He and his dog went fishing yesterday morning but failed to return.
A search began this morning after a friend raised the alarm.
The Ballajura man was found this morning about 16 kilometres off Mandurah, and was taken to Peel Water Police Base for a medical check-up.
The man’s dog died during the ordeal.
