John Quigley on new legislation to prevent unpaid fines leading to prison

WA Attorney General John Quigley says he “expects a couple of hundred people” in WA to be removed from prison immediately, once legislation is enacted to prevent unpaid fines leading to prison time.

 

Mr. Quigley told Michael Genovese and Carmen Braidwood on 6PR about the changes, in response to 22-year-old indigenous woman Ms Dhu dying in custody in 2014 while serving time for unpaid fines.
