Axe set to fall on Road Safety Remuneration Tribunal

Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull says he’s aiming to help truck drivers as soon as possible, as he speeds up plans to scrap the Road Safety Remuneration Tribunal.

The Government was planning to wait until after the election to scrap the body, however it will now introduce legislation next week.

It will also try to delay the controversial wage decision, which self-employed truck drivers say will put them out of business.

The Prime Minister joined Gary Adshead on the 6PR Morning Program, and also spoke Clive Palmer, the 60 Minutes crew facing charges in Lebanon and the spate of youth suicides in the Peel region.
