Recent inflation figures indicate that persistent price pressures will likely trigger another interest rate hike, further straining household budgets.

When 6PR Mornings host Simon Beaumont asked federal shadow treasurer Tim Wilson what the Liberal Party would do differently, Wilson argued that government spending is the root cause.

“At the moment a lot of people are just looking across the landscape and saying where’s the hope, where’s the relief because the government … their spending is driving up inflation and interest rates”, Wilson said.
