Western Australia leads nation with rollout of plug-in solar panels
Western Australians are set to become the first in the nation to gain access to plug-in solar panels and batteries.
The state government is legalising the technology, which plugs directly into standard power sockets and can save households up to $500 a year when paired with a battery.

Calum Harvey-Scholes, head of policy for Rewiring Australia, told 6PR Breakfast hosts Millsy and Karl that it is a major win for those wanting to reap the rewards of solar energy.
“This is great news. These systems are really simple plug-in solar systems so it’s the kind of system you can go down to Aldi, pick up a couple of panels, bring them home … hang them off your balcony and plug them into your normal wall socket in your house or your apartment”, Harvey-Scholes said.
