Former Nightline presenter Graham Mabury has reflected on the inception of Lifeline WA at the 6PR studios in 1981.

Speaking to 6PR Mornings host Simon Beaumont, Mabury said he never sought a career in radio.

“I never wanted a radio career … I wish it was my brilliant idea, it was Neil Adcock’s before me, but it absolutely resonated with me. In those days, a lot of people near the edge would ring a radio station at night because there was very little else,” he said.
