With no Perth suburbs remaining where it costs less to buy than rent, REIWA president Suzanne Brown told 6PR Drive host Mark Doran that a 133 per cent surge in average median mortgage repayments over four years has put home ownership out of reach for many.

“If you did want to make an impact and give first home buyers an opportunity, that was potentially four to five years ago when the market was affordable”, Brown said.
