Following a horror weekend on Western Australian roads, Police Commissioner Col Blanch has said that all the incidents were preventable.

He told 6PR Mornings host Simon Beaumont that the Tonkin Highway incident is particularly concerning, alleging the driver of the LandCruiser involved was evading police after being issued a 24-hour drug driving prohibition earlier that day.

“This person has made a conscious decision to drive a car when he shouldn’t and a life has been lost”, he said.
