WA Police Union highlights gaps in support for injured or traumatised officers
A 45-year-old woman has appeared in court facing multiple charges, including grievous bodily harm for allegedly using her blood to transmit a serious illness.

While police have confirmed the officer involved has been given the all-clear, Western Australian Police Union president Simone Taplin told 6PR Mornings host Simon Beaumont she is concerned about the support and protection available to officers injured or traumatised on the job.
“It’s like police have to go grovelling just for the support that their whole life has been changed because they went out there to protect the community”, she said.
