School swimming lessons in jeopardy following pool shortages
Children in the northern suburbs are shivering through 80-minute swimming lessons as rapid population growth leads to a public pool shortage.

Royal Life Saving WA chief executive Peter Leaversuch told 6PR Mornings host Simon Beaumont that the search is on to find safe alternatives, as the shortage could mean some school children miss out on learning to swim.
“We’re certainly trying to turn over every rock to find where are the places that kids can at least get the foundation skills”, he said.
