Mint chairman John Van Der Wielen, speaking with 6PR Mornings host Chrissy Morrissy, reaffirmed the organisation’s enduring economic significance to the state.

“I watch trends in business over the years of a lot of different things I’m involved in and over that 100 years the mint has probably been reviewed by many different governments to either be privatised, sold or joint-ventured. What we now know is it is a critical service to our gold mining industry,” he said.
