Members of the community are raising concern over plans to relocate Bunbury’s Bunnings Warehouse 10 kilometres up the road to Dalyellup, ending a 130-year presence in the south-west city.

Speaking with 6PR Breakfast hosts Ian Blackley and Mick Colliss, Monique Warner, the coordinator of a campaign to halt the move, said it would “rip the heart out of Bunbury”.

“Bunbury is the heart of the region, it’s where our services and our jobs are. If you start ripping out anchor tenants and ripping out the heart of Bunbury … All the surrounding suburbs decline as well,” she said.
