6PR Entertainment Reporter Peter Ford suggests the delay may be due to the fact that Stefanovic arguably hasn’t committed a sackable offence.

“I can’t see that Karl has done anything wrong, I think he’s done some stupid things and questionable things and been reckless but I can’t see that he’s committed any kind of sackable offence”, he said.

Ford told 6PR Breakfast hosts Millsy and Karl that the struggling Today show lacks an heir apparent and co-host Sarah Abo is about to go on maternity leave.
