Following a successful motion in the Legislative Council supported by the Nationals, the Liberals and crossbenchers, a formal inquiry into the state government’s management of fisheries is set to begin.

Speaking with Russell Collett on 6PR’s Boat, Dive & Fishing, Nationals WA leader Shane Love expressed hope for an expedited submission process.

“We are very pleased to have this underway. The committee needs to report back in a year, that’s a long time away. I’m asking… for that to be initiated as quickly as possible, so hopefully submissions from the public will be sought very shortly and we’ll get this discussion underway again,” he said.
