Parkinson’s Australia is calling for a ban on paraquat, a herbicide linked by some experts to Parkinson’s disease.

Speaking to 6PR Weekends host Chrissy Morrissy, the CEO of Parkinson’s Australia, Olivia Nassaris, expressed hope the government would support the push.

“Farmers can’t do this alone, we’re not expecting farmers to change their practices overnight. We need government support, policy, process that supports farmers to do this. Why should the government support that? Because they shouldn’t want people to be diagnosed with Parkinson’s,” she said.
