‘Why does the government stop short?’: Anger over tame gambling ad response
The federal government has been severely criticized for its “watered-down approach” to curbing gambling advertisements, tabling a long-awaited response three years after the initial inquiry.

Curtin University gambling harm expert Dr Louise Francis told 6PR Drive host Jamie Burnett the government has fallen short by ignoring a number of the inquiry’s 31 recommendations.
She highlighted the extensive delay and inadequate response.
“It’s quite a watered-down approach that we’ve seen the government table a thousand days after a very substantial evidence-based report,” she said.
