As Perth’s housing crisis deepens, the minister for housing has assured that the next state budget will be focused on housing.

During his interview, 6PR Drive host Jamie Burnett questioned Minister for Planning, Lands, Housing and Homelessness John Carey about future plans to relieve the shortage.

Carey said that while Perth is outperforming other states on housing targets, the city is undergoing a generational shift that requires higher-density living.

“Western Australia has never really had a history of embracing density, but we need medium to high-density projects to meet the housing challenge,” he said.
