Western Australia has faced a tragic start to Easter with three lives lost in separate crashes, prompting a stern warning from police regarding “absolute lunacy” on the roads.

Authorities have deployed extra patrols and double demerits, pleading with motorists to slow down and stay focused to prevent further holiday heartbreak.

Press PLAY to hear about the heightened enforcement measures being put in place

Road Policing Commander Mike Peters issued a somber reminder on 6PR Mornings saying, “The difference between 5 km/h can be the difference between getting out of your motor vehicle and exchanging details, to ending up with somebody from that crash being taken to the morgue.”
