Witnesses at Hillary’s Boat Harbour were shocked when a 16-year-old agitated boy allegedly threatened a beachgoer with a knife.

The beachgoer, Alberto, told 6PR Mornings host Simon Beaumont he armed himself with a chair for defence just as four other men intervened to surround the accused.

“It got me worried because I had my son there as well,” he said.

Acting Inspector Jamie Brennan from the Joondalup District Office later confirmed that CCTV vision was viewed and the suspect was arrested shortly after, adding:

“Quite alarming for all the patrons there,” he said.
