Reports of unsafe storage of huge volumes of petrol and diesel in urban environments is raising concerns about the risk to both professional and volunteer firefighters.

Phillip Blight, Shire of Wagin President, highlighted this danger to 6PR Mornings host Simon Beaumont, stating that panic buyers storing fuel poorly creates a huge fire risk.

“I don’t know whether consideration has been taken with regards to what’s going to happen should there be a fire in one of those locations,” he said.
