Mark Irwin, the Mayor of Stirling, has been elected as the new Western Australian Local Government Association President.

Speaking with 6PR Mornings host Simon Beaumont, Irwin outlined his vision for the future of local government and its biggest challenges, stating:

“WALGA is seen by state government as a necessary beast that needs to be worked with and I want to maintain that strong relationship and build on it,” he said.
