Tough new laws aimed at shutting down the illicit tobacco and vape trade are set to be introduced.

Rohan Pike, former head of the Australian Border Force’s Tobacco Strike Team, explained to 6PR Breakfast hosts Millsy and Karl that while the new laws will be among the toughest in the nation on paper, their effectiveness as a deterrent will depend on the level of enforcement.

“We’ll see down that track whether we’ve got the resources and the will power to really crack down on these people,” he said.
