Health Infrastructure Minister defends audit findings into hospital infrastructure
The Health Infrastructure Minister has defended an audit and its findings into hospital infrastructure, telling 6PR Perth Live he accepts the recommendations.
John Carey says the audit provides “frank and fearless” advice and claims red tape made it harder to carry out necessary maintenance.
“The reality is we have a massive hospital system, nearly $8 billion in assets, it is a complex system … there was 24 findings, eight recommendations, I’m accepting them in full,” he said.
“A system that is overtly red tape that makes it difficult to contract maintenance,” he added.
