A debate is emerging over whether lotto winnings should be taxed in Australia.

Addressing the issue, Adam Stannett, a Chartered Accountant, explained to Breakfast hosts Millsy and Karl that the exemption is due to the nature of the win.

As he put it: ‘It is a game of chance, it is luck and that’s why you don’t get taxed.'”
