WA public schools are set to ban students under 16 from riding e-scooters and e-bikes on school grounds.

WA Secondary School Executives Association President, Melissa Gillett, told 6PR Breakfast hosts Millsy and Karl that the ban is essentially enforcing existing law, as it is already illegal for under-16s to ride e-rideables.

While she expects students will accept the decision, she warned of a potential reaction from parents.

“I’m expecting that we’ll probably get more negative reaction from parents,” she said.
