Experts fear undiagnosed cases could derail the 2030 Hep C elimination goal
If you have an old tattoo, tried drugs back in the day, or had a blood transfusion or medical procedure overseas before 1990, experts urge you to get a Hepatitis C blood test.

Lucy Clynes, CEO of Hepatitis Australia, explained to 6PR Breakfast hosts Millsy and Karl that an estimated 69,000 Australians are currently living with the virus. Given the illness’s very vague symptoms, undiagnosed Hep C poses a serious risk, as it can progress to liver cancer.
“People often think it’s a standard part of your blood test, it’s not, you need to request the test,” she said.
