Fifty years ago today, Labor became the first and only government in the nation’s history to be dismissed by the Governor-General.

Veteran Australian Broadcaster Leigh Hatcher was there for the momentous event, and he reminisces with 6PR Breakfast host Millsy and Karl about his experience as a 20-year-old journalist in the press scrum.

“I knew that there had been no prime minister sacked before, it was no small thing for a government to be dismissed as it was,” he said.
