Soon after the social media ban for under 16s comes into effect, search engines such as Google and Microsoft’s Bing will be required to find out how old their users are before deciding what to show in search results.

RMIT Information Sciences Professor Lisa Given spoke to 6PR Radio Perth Live presenter Oliver Peterson and said from December 27, all search engine companies are going to be required to do age assurance to see which of their users are over and under 18.
