Deputy Premier Rita Saffioti has come out swinging against economist Saul Eslake’s view on WA’s GST share.

Speaking to Perth Today host Simon Beaumont, Saffioti stated that some of Eslake’s criticisms are “totally unfair, ill-founded, and quite ignorant.”

She stressed the importance of a strong WA, saying: “Without a strong WA the budget bottom line federally would take a massive hit,” she said.
