More than a year after the STS Leeuwin II was crushed by a container vessel at Fremantle Port, the Leeuwin has returned home.

Lawson Dixon, CEO at Leeuwin Ocean Adventure Foundation, explains to Perth Today host Simon Beaumont that there is still a couple of months of work left before the vessel can take passengers, but the return of the iconic ship to Fremantle was an emotional moment.

‘It’s been a long hard road and the community really has come together to help get this vessel back,’ he said.
