The unemployment rate jumped to 4.5 per cent in September putting renewed pressure on the Reserve Bank as markets upgrade the chances of a rate to 60 per cent at next month’s meeting.

The Motley Fool Scott Phillips spoke to 6PR Radio Perth Live presenter Oliver Peterson and said he was an “optimist” by nature but the new unemployment numbers weren’t pretty alongside high inflation.
