The mayor of Canning has confirmed, despite involvement in the development of Long Park, his council had not been invited to the official opening set for October 12.

Patrick Hall says he’s disappointed for his staff, who were heavily involved in the development.

“The convention in all levels of government is to invite civic leaders, we invite state government leaders, we invite federal leaders … it’s just always been a convention,” he told Simon Beaumont.
