A group of cyber criminals have threatened to release the stolen personal data of Qantas customers following a data breach earlier this year.

Technology expert Trevor Long says it’s a serious threat.

“I might have missed the memo, but this is the first time I’ve heard that Salesforce was the database involved … For their systems to be at the core of all these breaches that have occurred, it’s quite problematic,” he told Oliver Peterson.

He says international law enforcement is the only thing on Qantas’ side.

“That’s where they’ll [the hackers] be scared,” he added.
