The developers behind the remodelling of the Elders Wool Stores are threatening not to continue with the redevelopment over a disagreement with the skating ledge.

City of Fremantle mayor Hannah Fitzhardinge says the council has supported retaining a large part of the ledge.

“Everything is a balancing act … Primarily, the issue here was some openings that the developer had proposed that would effectively open out where the ledge is,” she told Simon Beaumont.

“I think it’s possible to have it personally have a functional development there without having the openings into the skate ledge. They think differently,” she added.
