New study reveals ‘promising cultural shift’ regarding Australian drinking rates

A new study has found younger generations are turning away from alcohol with a decline in weekly alcohol consumption.

Lead study author at Flinders University Dr Gianluca Di Censo says Gen Z and younger Millennial Australians are more likely to abstain from alcohol.
“But it sort of changes when we’re looking at volume of alcohol consumption per occasion. We actually see that millennials and Gen X are drinking quite a lot more than other generations,” he said.
