The Australian Tax Office has released its annual corporate tax results, revealing which companies paid corporate tax.

One notable company, Optus, has failed to pay tax for four years in a row, with Senior Economics Correspondent at The Age Shane Wright noting its parent company has recorded losses.

“So companies that don’t make profits don’t pay tax, and this is what the situation is for Singtel, but worst possible timing imaginable given what they’ve got up to over the last three or four weeks,” he told Sean Lindsay, filling in for Oliver Peterson.
