Concerning statistics have revealed only 49% of WA women eligible for a free mammogram have not taken advantage of the breast cancer screening service.

Vicki Durston from Breast Cancer Network Australia explained to 6PR Breakfast host Millsy and Jamie that participation numbers are not increasing despite being the leading cause of cancer-related death for women.

“It’s not going away, and the earlier we can detect breast cancer the better the outcome,” she said.
