Australian state and territory governments have collaborated to establish a safety star rating system for the nation’s roads, aiming to pinpoint the most hazardous sections.

Geoff Allan, Chief Executive of Austroads, informed 6PR Breakfast hosts Millsy and Jamie that the objective is to ensure 80% of travel occurs on roads rated three stars or higher.

“Australia as a whole is doing reasonably well given our challenges, but there is certainly room for improvement,” he stated.
