Future of greyhound racing in WA uncertain as inquiry commences

A state parliamentary inquiry into the greyhound industry has been triggered by a 26-thousand-signature petition calling for its phase-out.

Lachlan Hunter, Shadow Racing and Gaming Minister, told Perth Live host Oliver Peterson that the industry is seeking the Cook government’s unequivocal backing in Western Australia.
“This is a legitimate industry; it’s one of the most over-regulated and well-governed industries in the state of Western Australia, and it deserves the backing from the state government,” he said.
