New research indicates that almost one in three Australians are considering relocating from cities to regional areas within the next two years, a trend that rises to three out of five among younger Australians over the coming decade.

City of Greater Geraldton Mayor, Jerry Clune, told Perth Live host Oliver Peterson that Geraldton is already observing this growth, largely due to its appealing lifestyle and affordability.

He noted, “What you can buy in Geraldton you certainly wouldn’t be able to get in the metro area.”
