Industry urges the Federal Government to offer more incentives for employers to hire apprentices, with concerns the shortage will impact the economy long-term.

Aaron Morey, Chief Economist for the Chamber of Commerce and Industry WA, told 6PR Breakfast hosts Millsy and Karl that the Federal government’s significant reduction in incentives will impact numerous industries.

“By definition, you’re taking on someone that requires additional training, additional support, additional attention from other staff, lower productivity at the start of a career, so there really does need to be that compensation for business,” he said.
