The e-Safety Commissioner is pushing for a ban on children using YouTube, expressing concerns about their exposure to inappropriate content on the platform.

Dr Alexia Maddox, from La Trobe University’s School of Education, conveyed to 6PR Breakfast hosts Millsy and Karl that YouTube clearly meets the conditions for an age-based restriction.

“We know that kids do engage with educational content on this platform, but of course they do get exposure to other types of harmful content and other people as well,” she said.
