A growing number of individuals have fallen victim to a Consumer Protection rental scam, receiving deceptive emails falsely ‘confirming’ bond lodgements.

Trish Blake, Consumer Protection Commissioner, shared with Perth Live host Oliver Peterson that this is a frustrating and alarming development, as scammers are fraudulently utilising the Consumer Protection logo and official forms.

“I want to get these people because I am not happy that they’re using our materials to double down and really impact these poor victims,” she said.
