Recycling advocates are campaigning for a higher return on the 10c container deposit scheme.

Suzanne Tombourou from the Australian Council of Recycling explains to Perth Today’s Simon Beaumont that WA’s recycling target of 85% has not been reached, and an increase could bridge that gap. 

“Western Australia does better than most other states, and the one way to really drive higher returns is to increase that deposit rate,” she said.
