A public policy research and strategic advisory group claims the new Perth based NRL team is an ‘insurance policy’ against the risks posed by the Papua New Guinea based club launched late last year.

Ancrum Advisory director Hugh Piper spoke to 6PR Radio Perth Live presenter Oliver Peterson and said the NRL’s current goal was to secure 18 teams and nine games a week, which would mean it could extract more out of the broadcast rights deal that the NRL is negotiating.
