Applecross man Sam was awaiting to board the Rottnest Ferry from Fremantle when he noticed the Leeuwin Sail training ship de-masted and damaged.

Fremantle Ports Authority Neil Stanbury told 6PR Breakfast hosts Jamie and Karl a large container ship had collided and de-masted the ship.

“The two fellows who were on night watch on the Leeuwin have been taken to hospital, one might have minor injuries, one perhaps a broken arm,” Mr Stanbury said.
